5. A quote without context. I didn't actually want to say the first thing that popped into my mind--I do a fair amount of these memes, so I've had to answer what is my best line/fave line/etc before and naturally those were the ones that floated to the surface. Instead, I tried to just let my mind drift over various stories I had written to see if some particular thing would pop out, and here's what I got:

[the context, because I think it would be nearly impossible to find unless you recognize it, which I hope most people who read that fic would]

16. Current favorite phrase. This summer, I feel deeply in love with the writing of Ann Leckie, like, I think she might be my favorite author now. A phrase that Ann Leckie characters use all the time is to respond "Just so," to something they agree with. It's just a great phrase because I feel like you have to have some level of self-confidence, of bearing to go around saying shit like this. It's like "Yes, I am glad you see the truth of this thing that I, obviously, already knew." I am do not feel remotely capable of writing Imperial Radch fanfic, but I do feel capable of making certain Gotei captains say "just so" and now I do. So if you see one of those in my writing, that is me in my Ann Leckie era.

19. Headcanon I always include. "Rukia" is a name that Rukia gave to herself. I don't see any reason that she would know what the name she died under. She was a baby. Name magic is one of my very favorite themes in writing, and this is a very important part of the magic of Rukia's character, to me. I will never, ever say what her original name was, even though Byakuya knows what it is because Hisana told him. It doesn't matter. Rukia is her real name. (Is this why Hisana could never find her...? Perhaps)

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

oh man that's tough, i dont usually go for angsty endings cause i have So Much Depression to begin with but. probably gonna have to say All We Can Do (mass effect, sparatus/oc), specifically because there really isn't an ending, there's no resolution. the fic focuses on the pain and terror ierian and teia are struggling with watching their new baby fight for her life in the hospital, and we end still there. callie doesn't get better by the end, eri and teia just have to sit in that limbo. i put it in my author's note that cal survives and grows up happy and healthy, but at the point of the ending, the pov characters dont know that and the audience just has to sit there with the ache.

What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

alright that's harder cause i love me a good happy and/or relieved ending. let's say At the End of the Rainbow (no-reapers desabrudas post-shanxi) cause it's the first one i found while scrolling that definitely i would call a happy positive hopeful ending

people have gotten real mad at exdiff for having a nonbinary protagonist and broken mirror in particular for having a muslim woman who wears hijab in it

also some dude willfully misinterpreted everything i put in serpents in the garden (my m.e. big bang fic, oooh you wanna go read my xenopolitics nonsense so bad) and that upset me pretty bad (the comment is deleted but i still have the screenshot somewhere, basically criticized my entire plot and analysis because he just desperately wanted the councilors to be dumb and incompetent that bad and couldn't accept that i was positing otherwise)

Conclusion: yep. This got me in the heart, even if it isn’t the show itself. Still stuff that bothered me. But overall, this series of movies is not so bad. Not so great, at times, but not so bad. Honestly, I think they did the best they could and that’s really all I could ask for. And it was nice seeing them all in live action. For this movie, an 8/10. For the series of movies? 6.5/10. Not remotely comparable to the original series, but still a worthwhile watch and something I’d recommend if you want a recap of the series but don’t have time to watch it all again.

i do and i feel like it sucks so i almost always end up fading to black LMAO my actual explicit stuff remains private... it's like too embarrassing for me. i got judged for it as an 18 year old and 10 years later haven't gotten over it. i like bondage and bdsm though and that seems to crop up in private 😏

i do on occasion! i love roleplaying them, but the only one i have out there is The Way To His Heart Is Through His Stomach (Oh God Please Don't Eat Me), which mixes mdzs and tgcf characters in a unique setting :3

i'd definitely say dialog. it makes sense, since the stuff i'm most used to doing is drawing silly comics. i also like to ping-pong emotions around and feel like i'm pretty good at that too

using the same words over and over and feeling like i never write Enough, like everything is always light and never in depth. i don't like making scenes too heavy with padding but i also feel like i need to find a balance

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

i'll do it only if it's a language i speak!!! this doesn't apply to peppering words like gege and stuff just for funsies. i think the best way to go about it is to just tell the audience what language they're speaking in that moment

chapter 1:

oh, hey, it's the guy from the 98 anime!..... or not?!

i'm not keeping track of this TOO closely, so there may be other instances of this that i missed, but the guy from 98 episode 1 also showed up in trimax chapter 7. it makes me wonder if nightow provided character designs/ideas to the 98 team, or if it's the other way around and he decided to incorporate anime-original characters into the manga. either way: neat!

HAVE I MENTIONED I LOVE MERYL, BY THE WAY.

i love the bits of characterization we've been getting for her. she (and milly) are our tie to humanity, after all

i must say it is nice to have a goofy fight after... all that in volume 5. and before... the rest of volume 6.

chapter 2:

aaaand now we start the next chapter with wolfwood's nightmare/flashback! hurts just a little bit! (the trio IS kinda serving tho ngl... when you have a fashion show at 7 but need to terrorize the orphanage at 6)

i just... ugh. this is such a vashwood chapter. the absolute trust and fighting together completely seamlessly, they are just. ugh. ughhhhh. this kind of trust just GETS to me.... sorry. i'm normal about them. i'm NORMALLLLLLaauughghghgh

legato continues to be fascinating to me. i'm observing him like a bug in a jar. which is appropriate, considering...

this is actually making me fucking cry.

...i got so distracted laughing at bagworm legato that i almost forgot to say literally anything else about the chapter, but anything else i have to say mostly boils down to "wow, legato is such a freak (affectionate)"

also, whenever something that was in tristamp is brought up i feel like the leonardo dicaprio pointing meme. like "oh hey, i know this!" going into this manga with prior knowledge from stampede is... an interesting experience. all that being said, i can't WAIT to see more of the manga version of double fang. oh nightow we're really in it now

chapter 4:

oh, finally, FINALLY!!! last volume i asked where the knives nuance was and now we're FINALLY getting some knuance, thank god. seeing knives react to just how badly humans treat plants is SO effective. and we're not even up to the juicy part yet. it makes me want to eat glass.

speaking of eating glass.

i thought something like this might've been the case, but still... this hurts to read.

i want to eat glass!!!! fuck!!! this reveal is so insane, it's like monkey's paw of "this is a way knives can be defeated, but by the same method, vash is closer to death than knives is." WE don't want vash to die, and neither does knives, and this chapter is the first (and possibly the only, idk) time the reader's feelings and knives's feelings are... well, aligned. at least in a sense.

chapter 5:

this chapter is really something, because it starts off almost seeming like another lighthearted "we're in a random town fighting a goofy enemy of the month" romp much like the early chapters were, heck like chapter 1 of this very volume. but it's just wearing the skin of that. which is, y'know. the thesis of this entire chapter. smiling to hide the pain and all that.

i don't think i can really... articulate anything of substance. the chapter just kind of... speaks for itself, i think.

although i DID laugh at ww trying to enjoy his noodles and failing, and also the phrase "needle-noggin-isms." thanks for providing some levity, we actually really do need it.

chapter 6:

ohhh boy we are REALLY in it now!!

i enjoy seeing knives ponder like this. legs crossed, arm slung over his face... i don't know. maybe it's because i myself sometimes lounge in this pose.

what exactly is he thinking about, i wonder. that in awakening/forcing vash to use his powers, he unintentionally pushed him closer to death? maybe? i don't know. either way it's very on-the-nose for what their relationship has been like.

and then of course we cut to this shot of vash, looking in a mirror created by knives's slice

this shot is making me think a lot and i'm reading too much into it, but- obviously the reflection puts vash's beauty mark on the opposite side, so there's the knives resemblance, so also, i suppose vash must see knives every time he looks in the mirror, right? also vash looking at his reflection featuring his own black hair- which we're all still thinking about... i dont know. i dont even know if this is anything LOL. i feel like i have the dots but i'm failing to articulate the connection. anyway

this made me laugh. thanks for the levity again, wolfwood :)

1. Who has been your favorite muse to play?

ughhhh this is hard...im gonna cheat and go for nostalgia ok

although i think i missed the mark with her muse in some places i have a special fondness for dahlia hawthorne and her specific brand of caustic sarcasm.

i don't think i've ever come up with so many different creative insults during her runtime...also she had the neatest mix of relationships with random muses, not just in AA cast (tho i remember her tormenting at least 3 different feenies??) but beyond, notably izaya and edward cullen comes to mind.

i also really liked my run as kasen kanesada because he's a very lyrical sword (or at least works hard to cultivate that image) so i had to express that in writing and ended up having a lot of fun doing flowery replies and making up poetry and generally going big ham. (it did take a lot of mental energy though so i started losing steam later on.)

i remember he had a thread with FGO Shakespeare that was pretty nice cause we got to be nerdy and talk about eastern/western literature lolololol, then for his challenge he had to kill like 5 ppl in 24 hours so i actually got 5 volunteers to get decapitated and RP'd mini threads with them all, which was wild (and again a very, very random mix of muses including X-Files Fox Mulder)

i didn't RP OCs back then but i like them a lot now too! the lack of art is an unfortunate reality but the amount of customization you get in exchange...so powerful.

5. What is the most difficult thing about writing your current muse?

stupid guy won't just kiss klaus and marry him that would solve 99% of their problems hey klaus are u listening u need to seduce this idiot or something so his brain has nothing but u all day to keep him out of mischief hey hey klaus

also his unspoken obligation to be lawful good (in his POV) really limits his ability to "act out," so sometimes i need to find different ways to de-escalate situations before he hits moral event horizon. you know, flattery and adoration goes a long way in wrapping him around your finger, i'm surprised more people don't try (i guess they can't stand him long enough to get there lol)

7. Who was the very first muse you ever wrote?

i remember answering this question on another meme maybe...?

there's a more accurate answer now: pre-tumblr, i remember RPing a Lopmon on some digimon forum once upon a time. also remember the mod that was RPing with me called me out for "slight godmodding" because i was describing how my digimon was crossing a bridge and apparently that was taking things too much into my own hands LOLOL

8. Have you ever written a novel? If not, does it interest you?

i've started written novels but i haven't finished any except for like, a couple of original oneshots. technically Veoc is a supporting character/love interest (spoilers: he's not the canon pairing) in a sci-fi story where i have the general plot laid out but y'know, actually writing it is... *flops down*

9. Do you write fanfiction, or have you in the past?

i definitely wrote more in the past but i've slowed down to a trickle since then. uhhhh i want to start up again, maybe with drabbles/oneshots, but i need to catch up on canon first before i try to do the characters justice

I'd love to make a continuation of the Batman AU, but it would be two multi-chapters, heavy on angst, and action too, so it would be a big undertaking. It has definitely fallen on the backburner.

Funny dialogue and situations, maybe?? The occasional heartbreaking line, according to comments, nyehehe :)

Descriptions of locations/atmosphere, like everyone is in an empty room. Also action scenes, which probably ties into smut tbh, the physical descriptions would all sound like the hokey pokey!!!

I haven't but I would indicate in the narration, much like I do for sign language, which I suppose counts??

Rpg Anon: Ok so before I start, go back to Jan 22, 2023 to see my original list of everyone's sentinel types. This list will be somewhat linked back to that one. It'll help describe why I chose those gens for them and how I felt about their playstyles. Tho, I believe Miu and Maki swapped later on. Regardless, I'm going to make Pilot skills for everyone, starting with class 77, based on what I believe they would have and actual 13 sentinels pilot skills. Everyone has 6 total pilot skills, each that they learn every five levels until level 30. A lot of them are based on relations with other characters. I might be stretching some of them to fit. There is going to be a lot of reference to Free Time Events, Dangan Island Endings, dialogue, blog memes, and everything. This is gonna be quite lengthy cuz I need spacing. I'll have to make class 78 later. Here goes:

1st Gens: 

Hajime: 

Level 5: I'll Protect You All. The more members on the strike team, the higher stats all stats increase. 

Level 10: Master Martial Artist. Close-quarter attacks do more damage the closer the kaiju are. 

Level 15: No Matter What Happens. Whenever Mahiru gets attacked, Hajime's Wait Time (WT) recovery speed and attack increase temporarily. 

Level 20: Player Two. If Hajime attacks after Chiaki, Hajime's ATK increases. 

Level 25: I Am Hajime Hinata! Increases all stats. 

Level 30: The Future That We Want! The more members on the strike team that are not immobilized, the higher all stats significantly increase.

Akane:

5: I Got This. The fewer members of the Strike team, the higher all stats increase.

10: I Can Take You All. ATK and DEF increase if there are many kaiju nearby.

5: Ultimate Swordswoman. Close-quarter attacks do more damage the closer the kaiju are.

10: At His Side. If Fuyuhiko is in the strike team, increase all stats.

15: Quick Draw: Increases Counter’s power proportional to damage taken.

20: Bodyguard. Attack power and move speed increase whenever Fuyuhiko gets attacked.

25: Once Again, A Worthless Object. Whenever Peko defeats small sized kaiju, WT recovery speed increases.

30: Justice Complete! If many kaiju are defeated in 1 hit, ATK, WT recovery speed, move speed, and damage received increases temporarily.

Nekomaru: 

5: Ultimate Team Manager. If ally First-Gen Sentinels attack after Nekomaru, increase all stats. (this increases the allies’ stats, not Nekomaru’s)

10: Ultimate Lucky Student. Friendly fire is activated and armaments have 50% chance to insta-kill, excluding bosses.

15: Loneliness. All stats of allies in the strike team slightly increase when not near Nagito.

20: Russian Roulette. 5/6ths chance for allies to lose HP and 1/6th chance to recover HP when near Nagito.

25: Complicated Feelings. HP recovers when near Hajime.

30: A Vow For Love And Change. After a certain amount of time, Seiko will contact Nagito and friendly fire will be negated, probabilities for skills will be reversed, all allies will recover HP, and all stats will greatly increase. (like Gundham, it takes one in-game minute and a half) 

Ryota: (I might have almost no good ideas for him so I had to think of anything)

5: Ultimate Animator. Armaments have a 50% chance to turn Kaiju friendly. (brainwashing is strangely not that useful at all, though)

10: Hikikomori. DEF and WT recovery speed increases when beyond a certain distance from Kaiju.

15: Used To Loneliness. Increases all stats when no allies are nearby.

20: Atonement. When Ryota’s sentinel gets destroyed, all allies recover HP. (again, garbage skill. Never would want this to happen.)

25:  Brothers. Increase ATK and DEF if Ryuji is nearby.

30: I Promised I Won’t Die. If Iroha contacts the team, increases all stats until the end of the next wave. (I really don’t want to explain this but I guess I have to. I’m saying that after taking a hard hit and reaching critical condition, Iroha will contact him out of concern.)

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? OH GOSH I DON'T KNOW!!!! This is a harder question to answer because I write a lot of cute and happy fics but what makes it a happy ending is any of the suffering along the way!! So probably "It's Only Forever" (Magnus Archives)

If it is that trope of a bilingual person switching to another language because "teehee i forgot" or whatever that is don't do it ESPECIALLY if you yourself don't speak that language! I'm having war flashbacks to my time in the Voltron fandom. People still do it to the hispanic coded characters in Star Wars. Don't do it. If you the writer know how to speak/write this language and it is used because this is legit how a person speaks at home, sure. But you also have to consider: why are you writing this in another language, do you need to, is this out of place or in character? Most importantly: are you white? if you're white, just be safe and don't do it.

19. First fandom you wrote for? Back in my ff.net days, Digimon Adventure!

20. Favorite fic you've written? Um it is my three massive AU fics because I put a lot of time and love into them even if they themselves don't get a love and attention.

Adam Warlock actually looks so sick in GotG Vol. 3! Will Poulter is perfect for the role.

I remember when the casting was announced and a lot of people weren't feeling it, myself included, because it reminded us too much of the "you guys are getting paid?" meme. Something that also happened was that people made fun of his appearance - I did not partake in that however, because even though I thought he didn't look like Adam, I always find it unnecessary when people are cruel to actors. I know people are like that, I know the internet is like that. I just did not wish to partake. I simply shrugged and thought he was miscast.

But I also thought, let's wait and see him as Adam in the trailers. And what annoys me is that the trailers ALSO don't do him justice! The shots of him in the trailer have a lighting that make his golden skin look dull, his head looks too big for his body... they chose the worst shot istg, and a lot of fans were disappointed because even as Adam, he still looked nothing like Adam. Even fans who liked the casting thought the makeup and costume were pretty bad.

In the movie that is completely different. His skin looks perfectly golden, his hair looks perfectly golden, he looks perfect for the role. Regardless of how you feel about the way he was written (tbh I don't mind that he is kinda like a child, this is his origin story) you have to admit that he looks exactly like Adam. He made me eat my words (but also idk why they would use these shots in the trailer, they set him up). Especially the part where Adam is saving Peter Quill, in that moment I didn't see anything other than Adam Warlock. I forgot I was watching a movie. I didn't see Will Poulter in makeup. I saw Adam mf Warlock. He was born for that role. Maybe the casting controversy affected him, I have no idea, but he was amazing. James Gunn knows what he's doing more than we think.

1. which adaptations have you seen/watched? which one do you like best and why?

I’ve watched both the donghua and CQL (and read the book and some of the manhua). I’m not sure if I have a definitive answer to which visual adaptation is better? The donghua is gorgeous, especially all the demonic cultivation in the third season (plus it was my first mdzs adaptation, my first danmei of any kind actually). I do really enjoy CQL tho, and there are things I like and dislike about both adaptations. That answer is a total cop out but it’s also the truth 😂

2. top 5 favorite characters? what specifically do you like about each one?

Okay so I thought I had this, no problem, and then I counted again and realized I had six characters lmao... I’m not doing this in order bc that’s too many decisions to deal with

1. Wei Wuxian - What can I say, I love a tragic hero! I am intrigued by how smart he is (inventing demonic cultivation, lure flags, etc) but also how he makes mistakes and does some really fucked up stuff even tho he has good intentions. A great complex character!

2. Lan Wangji - I mean who doesn't like Hanguang-jun? He's a badass and a romantic, plus he's stubborn as shit. I really appreciate his relationships with the juniors. I also think his whole teenage angst about liking wwx is fantastic, and also him being super horny and dominant... I am a fan of novel dynamics for wangxian's sex life lol

3. Xue Yang & Xiao Xingchen - I am a slut for a good tragedy and for messed up characters! Plus I love identity porn. Yi City and XueXiao were basically tailored to my personal taste.

4. Lan Sizhui - He's just a good boy! And I like the added complexity of his identity.

5. Jiang Cheng - Honestly it took me a little while to latch onto him as hard, but he grew on me steadily. I originally mostly thought about him in relation to WWX, but damn he's been through a lot! Raising his nephew and running his sect on his own after he's lost everything? Really fucking sad and angry about it? That's good shit!

Also want to note that I like all of these characters in all adaptations, but their actors all did a fantastic job in cql and really added to my love for the characters, especially Wang Haoxuan as Xue Yang and Wang Zuocheng as Jiang Cheng!

1. I don’t hate Jiang Cheng or Lan Qiren? those can be pretty unpopular opinions

2. I’m a white American and my reading of danmei is definitely colored by my different experiences/worldview... I try to be aware of that as much as I can be and to read meta by Chinese disaspora (EDIT: I wrote this like a year ago and idk where I was going with this, but I think I was trying to say something about how I try to make sure my opinions aren't culturally insensitive? Bc some of the takes you see definitely are)

12. do you like any other of mxtx's works? is mdzs your first of hers or did you watch/read the others first?

It’s less obvious on tumblr bc there’s less content I come across compared to twt but your girl is a Scum Villain main lmao (EDIT: That was written a year ago when I started answering this ask. One of the advantages to twt's whole mess is that there's more scum villain content on tumblr now!!)

That said, I have read all three MXTX novels, watched all three donghuas, watched CQL, and read at least part of all three manhuas (rip sv manhua)

- I definitely see Wei Wuxian as bi, altho I can understand reading him as a gay man who isn’t actually attracted at all to the women he flirts with - On the other hand, 90% of the time I see Lan Wangji as gay. The other 10% is me going “but what if Wei Ying was a girl tho”

I don’t think I have a lot of definitive non canon queer headcanons for mdzs honestly? There are definitely ones I enjoy and ones I don’t really see, but a lot of times I’m just happy to be taken along for the ride of other people’s headcanons for a fic or meta. Here are a few I’ve enjoyed:

ranting about this guy i've been talking to for the last 3 months because i don't know anymore

we originally matched in june last year, we talked for like a week and then i stopped responding cuz he was never asking me about anything in my life but i was asking him all the questions getting to know him etc etc

he reached out to me in september and i told him that i felt like he didn't care to get to know me and that's why i ghosted him and he apologized and immediately improved after that. so i said okay lets just go with it whatever. **we talk allday everyday since september last year**

he came on really strong at first and was like oh we could have movie nights and cuddle nights and etc etc and i was like dude relax you havent even met me yet etc. first time we hung out was in october - we went to a cafe and talked for 5 hrs, it went well and he said we should do this again sometime and i agreed.

2 weeks later we have a movie night at his house (that he invited me over for) we watch the movie and we both end up passing out and i left around 6am (nothing happened sexually or flirty but i wasnt planning on doing anything with him at the time), i hugged him goodbye and since then we have not hung out **once** and yet he texts me good morning and good night without fail every single day, asks me how my day is, aks how work was, asks me what i'm up to etc etc **every single day** to this day.

i even didnt message him for a whole week because i was going back and forth about the idea of cutting him off and i was like okay if he doesnt want a relationship and just isnt saying anything that's okay, i understand - let's just be friends. and during that whole week of me not messaging him, he still texted me multiple times everyday even tho i wasn't responding????

When i was at his house, his tv didnt work, we had to watch the movie on his computer - which tells me that he does not have friends over often, if ever. and he has like 3 friend groups on discord that he talks to all day everyday. so i'm wondering if he just prioritizes his comfort and his friends over a relationship. cuz that's what it seems to me and idk shits weird. i've never ran into a guy like this and just don't understand. like i genuinely think he's like someone who doesn't want to get up and get out and do anything. and i just???? 🛹 About SK8 the Infinity, especially of Ainosuke Shindo/ADAM, Tadashi Kikuchi/Snake, Kaoru Sakurayashiki/Cherry blossom and Kojiro Nanjo/Joe as their own characters and secondly their ships/dynamics [I like them all at same level] As ships mainly as 🐍🌹🐶 (TRUE EDEN) and 🐯🌸🐯 (SOLE CILIEGIO) [Tho if you don't like something I like, it will always be tagged, so you can mute it and enjoy only what we share (Example: You don't like any of 🐯🌸's combination with 🐍🌹🐶, I will always keep it tagged and this way I've it all well sorted and easy to access for me and easy to avoid by muting it for you)], obviously you will also see content from the others (🌺, ❄, 🌷, 🐱) and from Renga (❄🌺❄)/Shadoka (🌷🔧🌷) ships, but not as often as you will see content from the other four.)

I don't interact with things that don't like if you want to know what things don't interest me you just have to scroll to my likes to see, you can snoop as much as you want, that's why are public. Everything you'll find there will give you an idea, the things I don't like are already muted for me. I don't mind other people's likes/loves, so I have no problem with interacting with the likes/loves we do share. 💞 But I will block you if I see you hate and encourage hatred of one of eight since SK8 is about 8 characters, not 2, 4, 5 or 6. Also, my English isn't professional so I usually block if read jokes or memes that don't understand and think it's hate character, if you think I've blocked you by mistake, try to contact via any other social media with me and I'll unblock you without problem. ❤💙 About Kingdom Hearts I love and have enjoyed it since I was a child, my passion for the series is huge. I love all characters tho mainly you will see content of Sora, Riku and Soriku.

All of the above doesn't mean that I also love and will may publish drawings or thoughts about other animes, videogames, books, series and movies that you'll see from time to time around here, tho not as consistently as those previously mentioned.
